The New Year has coincided with a flurry of activity in the Employer Taxes area and this edition is concentrating on some recent technical developments and focusing on the rapidly approaching new income tax year, which will itself bring changes. We will also focus on our experiences over the past few months on changes in HMRC practice and provide some guidance on what we believe are the key technical areas in which they are currently focusing.
Towards the end of March we are running our Annual End of Year Employer Compliance Workshop. This year we are running the workshop over three days and at three venues as follows:
21 March 2006 : READING – Atlantic House, Imperial Way, Reading
22 March 2006 : CRAWLEY – Basepoint Business Centre, Metcalf Way, Crawley
23 March 2006 : SOUTHAMPTON – The Rose Bowl, Botley, West End
In these half day seminars we will:
Summarise key reporting deadlines for the year ended 5 April 2006
Review changes in legislation and HMRC practice in key areas including Employment Status, Termination Payments and the Construction Industry Scheme
Advise on tax efficient expense and benefits provision and how to reduce annual reporting obligations
Provide practical advice on how to reduce the risk of being selected for audit by HMRC
Booking for these events, which are free of charge, has been brisk. There are however some limited spaces available at the venues. If you would like to attend please complete the faxback form on our website, www.adtax.co.uk , or contact us by email at dhedges@adtax.co.uk
